Interesting day. Tried to interview/shoot the marijuana clinic in Egg Harbor, NJ today. They seemed to be PR’ed out, so on to the next thing.
Mounted the GoPro’s on Big Blue and cruised down Pacific Ave @ Atlantic City. Lots of walk-overs to the casinos, will be interesting to see the take. Also been GoPro’ing most of the bridges that I’ve driven over. Golden Gate, Mississippi River bridge @ Vicksburg, Ben Franklin @ Philly, Chesapeake Bay bridge/tunnel and various others. Did 4 or 5 @ Pittsburgh.
Night shots with the GoPro’s on the Ben Franklin was interesting. The high mounted GoPro looked great with very little noise, but the low mounted/front of car GoPro had lots of noise. Not sure if it’s a metering difference or something not quite right with the front/low mount.
Got to go to the bridge on the ferry from Cape May to Delaware today. Used the 16mm full frame fisheye on the D800, not too bad distortion. Allowed me to show all of the bridge and keep the recording levels up with the Rode’s mic. The ferry was pitching a bit and as I hurried up the last set of steps to the bridge I caught my toe on the top step. OUCH.. lots of damage to me and as we discuss in photo classes to the students, KEEP the lens shades on the lenses. Camera’s are fine, me not so much. Maybe I should mount a lens shade on me somewhere.
Packing and un-packing is so much fun, plus everything that needs charging, ingest images, reformat, etc… whine, whine, wine?
